The Ippocampo Web Clipper does not collect, store, sell, or transmit your data to us or to anyone else. It has no servers, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. The extension reads a page only when you click its toolbar icon, and the information it reads goes directly to the Ippocampo app on your own Mac.
When you click the extension's toolbar icon on a profile page, it reads the following information from that page only:
The extension never reads pages in the background, never reads other tabs, and has no access
to your browsing history, cookies, passwords, or form data. It requests only the
activeTab and scripting permissions, which grant temporary access to
the current tab at the moment you click the icon, and nothing more.
The extracted fields are shown to you in the extension's popup so you can review or edit them
before anything happens. When you choose to continue, the information is handed to the Ippocampo
application on your Mac through a local ippocampo:// link. It never travels over
the internet to us or to any third party.
If the profile has a photo, the Ippocampo app downloads that image directly from the source site's content network, exactly as your browser would when displaying the page.
Nothing. The extension holds no storage permission and keeps no record of the profiles you save, of the pages you visit, or of anything else. Closing the popup discards everything.
Contacts you save are stored in the Ippocampo app on your device, and sync between your own devices through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. That data is held in your iCloud account, not ours; we have no access to it and operate no server that receives it.
The extension is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
